Thailand’s team won the Asian Women’s Beach Volleyball Tournament held in the northern province of Quang Ninh from April 26-29.

The champions pocketed 3,000 USD in prize money, while the runner-up – Vietnam 3 were awarded 2,000 USD. The Chinese team came in third, receiving 2,000 USD.

The four-day tournament, which is part of the Ha Long-Quang Ninh Tourism Week 2012 , attracted 13 teams from Thailand, China , Indonesia , Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Laos and host Vietnam.

The event is jointly organised by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and Au Lac Company Limited./.
