    Viettel’s investment reaches out to East Timor

    Vietnam’s military-run telecommunications group Viettel will set up a branch in Timor Leste in an effort to expand its operation.

    According to the local newspaper Dau Tu (Investment) dated August 10, the branch which was recently approved will carry out a 15 million USD project on telecommunications infrastructure in the country.

    To date, Timor Leste will be Viettel’s sixth overseas market following Laos, Cambodia, Haiti, Mozambique and Peru.

    The giant aims to reap overseas revenue of 791 million USD and profits of 94 million USD in 2012./.
