A cultural, sports and tourism exchange programme between Vietnamese and Lao border provinces will take place from August 16th in Vietnam’s central provinces of Nghe An, Quang Binh and Ha Tinh and Laos’ Xiengkhoang, Bolykhamsay and Khammouan provinces.

The programme will be held by Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Laos Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism and Ministry of Education and Sports.

The information was released at a press briefing held in Hanoi by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on August 9th.

Vietnam shares over 2,100 km of land border with Laos, running through 10 provinces of each side.

The event will aim to strengthen solidarity and friendship between the Vietnamese and Lao people, especially those living in border areas.

An exhibition about culture of border ethnic minority groups, an exhibition on tourism potentials of border provinces, art performances and a show on traditional clothes of ethnic minority groups, and a seminar on tourism in border areas will be held during the four-day programme./.
