    State Vice President visits AO victims

    (CPV) – On the commemoration of 51 years of the Agent Orange catastrophe, on August 5, Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan and leaders from the northern province of Ha Nam, Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper and benefactors visited and gave presents to AO victims in Ha Nam province.

     

     State Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange, Ha Nam provincial leaders, Editor-in-chief of Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper and beneficiaries give presents to a victim’s families in Kim Bang district.


    The State Vice President and delegation gave 10 presents worth 5 million VND each and 3 charity houses worth 50 million VND each to disadvantaged victims’ families.

    During the trip, State Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan showed her sympathy over the difficulties of AO victims, encouraging them to overcome the difficulties to better their lives.

    On this occasion, representatives from the Dat Viet investment joint-stock company gave 40 presents worth one million VND to beneficiary families in Duc Ly commune, Ly Nhan district; the Vu Anh international general hospital donated 100 million VND to the Ha Nam provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange; and Ho Chi Minh City assisted 500 million VND for a pre-school in Nhan Nghia commune, Ly Nhan district.

     

     State Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and the delegation from Ho Chi Minh City give 500 million VND to Nhan Nghia pre-chool.


    According to the Ha Nam provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange, the province has 29,198 people affected by toxic chemicals.

    So far over 2,000 victims have been given presents, support for housing, loans and medical treatment. Scholarships worth over one billion VND have also been given to victims./.
