During the 2005-2012 period, the central province had allocated over 250 billion VND to build 82 essential constructions serving rural socio-economic development in 84 communes.

The project was sponsored by the OPEC Fund for international development (200 billion VND) and the corresponding capital of the locality (50 billion VND).
The objective was to stabilize people’s lives in areas that are in danger of erosion, develop the infrastructure, create new jobs for people, increase people’s income through investing and training in some new industries.
Accordingly, the project has focused on developing the traffic, irrigation and power systems and the rural technical infrastructure.
Seven months after the implementation, 52 traffic constructions, 8 irrigation sites serving 152 hectares of cultivated land, 12 power supplies serving 1,750 families, 10 technical infrastructure constructions, including 3 supplying water serving 2,580 people and many others for social welfare were built. Out of 82 constructions, there were 15 urgent directly invested in poor communes.
Standing Deputy Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Quang said that the project greatly contributed to poverty reduction and the implementation of Vietnam’s food safety strategy as well as the Government’s new policies relating to agricultural, rural and farming development./.
