    16:50 | 11/07/2012

(CPV) – The Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism is considering the approval of a project to organise an International Tourism Fair of Vietnam Sea 2013 in Nha Trang.

On approval, the event will take place at Diamond Bay tourist area from June 6 to 8, 2013 with a total expenditure of 15 billion VND. The fair is planned to have 250 kiosks, 30 percent of which will be from foreign tourist promotion organizations and foreign travel firms.

The organising board of the fair will arrange for travel agencies and the press to survey tourist products of Khanh Hoa Province and some other coastal localities. Specifically, the fair will organise a meeting between domestic and foreign enterprises and hold a seminar on maritime tourism marketing.

According to the Institute for Tourism Development Research under the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, Vietnam has huge potential to develop maritime tourism, with more than 3,200 kilometers of coast and numerous beautiful seaside resorts. The country possesses many well-known coastal destinations such as Non Nuoc in Danang which was voted amongst the six most charming beaches in the world, Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh Province – recently voted as one of the worlds 7 New Wonders, Nha Trang Bay in Khanh Hoa and Lang Co Bay in Thua Thien Hue – two members of the world’s most beautiful maritime bays club.

Vietnam’s maritime tourism attracts nearly 70 percent of the total foreign tourists to Vietnam and 50 percent of the total domestic tourists, contributing 70 percent to the national tourism revenue./.
