    Strengthening Vietnam-Laos comprehensive cooperation
    22:11 | 18/06/2012

A meeting was held in Quang Binh province on June 17 to mark the 35th anniversary of the signing of Vietnam-Lao Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (July 18) and the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties (September 5).

Luong Ngoc Binh, Secretary of the Quang Binh provincial Party Committee, said the event provided a good chance for both sides to review the special fighting alliance and mutual support between the two parties, governments and peoples in general and between Quang Binh and Laos in particular.

50 years marks a glorious milestone in the special ties of friendship between Vietnam and Laos and opens up a new chapter in bilateral relations in the future, Binh said.

Binh emphasized that the Friendship and Cooperation Treaty signed on July 18, 1977 by the two governments laid a firm foundation for the two countries, particularly for Quang Binh of Vietnam and Khammouan, Savannakhet and Champasak provinces of Laos to support each other in their construction and development process.

A wide range of cultural and exchange activities among the four provinces took place during the event./.
