    New football coaches named

    The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced that Phan Thanh Hung and Lu Dinh Tuan will take over as head coaches of the national football team and the U22 team, respectively on May 25.

    Hung, who is now a trainer for Hanoi T&T FC, will lead the national squad in the next two friendly matches in China, while Tuan, a trainer for Saigon FC, will head the U22 team in the quest for a place in the final stage of the 2013 AFC Asian Cup.

    The 22 members of the national team will gather in Hanoi on June 4 before traveling to China two days later.

    Meanwhile, the U22 team will start its training session on June 5 in Hanoi before playing in the qualifying round of the 2013 AFC Asian Cup, which is scheduled to be held in Myanmar from June 23-July 3.

    The U22 team will be in group G, along with the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Taiwan (China) and the Philippines./.
