In 2012, the central province of Thua Thien – Hue will focus investment on rapidly reducing the poverty rate by 3-5% in 13 communes that have poverty rates of over 25%.

Accordingly, the province will assist poor families with preferential loans from the Bank for Social Policies to develop their economic development, raising their incomes and living conditions.

The province will ensure that all poor and ethnic minority people will be given medical insurance cards and all poor students in these 13 communes will be assisted with school fees.

The poor will also be assisted with vocational training.

The plan aims to improve living conditions among the poor, especially those in mountainous areas, and among ethnic minority people, gradually narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas./.
