On May 15, the Ministry of Construction and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) signed an agreement to work together on carrying out a housing program for low-income people and workers.
Accordingly, in 2012 and 2013, BIDV will earmark credit of VND 2 trillion with preferential interest rates to support housing projects for low-income people and workers.
The program set priority for projects in big cities where there are large numbers of workers living.
Enterprises will use the loans to revive housing projects for low-income people and workers by reducing selling prices.
Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tran Nam said that the loans are valuable for the program on housing for the poor./.
