    21:12 | 11/05/2012

(CPV) - The book titled “Historic landmarks during 100 years of Vietnamese football” was introduced by the Ho Chi Minh City Football Association on May 10.

The book highlights major events in the history of the establishment and development of national football during the past century.

The 448-page book was written by writer Nguyen Quang Sang in coordination with football expert Tran Duy Long and other journalists including Ho Nguyen (Saigon Giai Phong), Sy Huyen (Tuoi Tre), Nguyen Nguyen (Phap luat thanh pho Ho Chi Minh) and poet Thanh Thao.

Through detailed information and photos, football fans can learn the history of football in Vietnam since it was first adopted in the country in northern, central and southern regions, women’s football, its outstanding footballers, regional/continental achievements, and which teams were national champions and who were top scorers as well.

Especially, it is a meticulous and strenuous work, as few teams still keep full documents on their history. The authors have spent a lot of time to compile articles about football in various regions, and meet with older players to collect information for the book.

It was published by the Youth Publishing House./.
