In 2012, the southern province of Dong Nai will instruct 900 communal officials and give vocational training to 10,000 rural labourers, according to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tri, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, when talking about the project on rural labourer training until 2020.

Since the beginning of the project in 2010, 15,648 people have been given vocational training with 31.13% trained for the agricultural sector and 68.86% for the non-agricultural and service sectors.

Training in some industries, including breeding, handicraft weaving, and industrial sewing in combination with household sewing, has been bringing stable jobs and sustainable income for farmers.

To realize the target for 2012, the province will focus on the promotion of vocational training, and increase the capacity of grassroots vocational training centres./.
