    Call for nearly VND 15 billion to prevent hand foot and mouth disease

    The Vietnam Red Cross, together with the Association of the Red Cross - Red Crescent International, has issued an urgent call for capital of VND 15 billion to carry out a project against hand foot and mouth disease in 13 provinces and cities, as the disease is now developing unexpectedly.

    The project aims to reduce fatalities among children under five, and restrict the spread of the disease among communities through education about healthcare and hygienic steps to prevent the disease.

    According to statistics from the Ministry of Health, since the beginning of 2012, 28,151 cases have been reported in 63 provinces and cities, including 18 fatalities in 10 provinces and cities./.
