    Saigon makes world top ten street food destinations

    Hot bread with pâté attracts visitors in Ho Chi Minh City

    (CPV) - Food and
    Wine magazine has just announced its top 10 places worldwide for the most attractive street food. Ho Chi Minh City was included on this list for its famous street foods such as pho (noodle soup), and banh xeo (rice pancake folded and filled with shrimp, meat and soya bean sprouts).

    The Food and Wine also stressed that street foods have played an important role in gastronomy everywhere in the world for a very long time. Travellers going to a destination are not only interested in landscapes, culture and shopping, but also want to enjoy the culinary specialties of that region.

    Street food in Ho Chi Minh City is plentiful and is praised by foreign visitors who try it. "Ho Chi Minh City has many food carts selling hot bread with pâté, meat and pickled vegetables, which is very tasty and cheap. I enjoy this food," said Matsu, a Japanese expert working in Ho Chi Minh City.

    This is a good way for the city to promote itself and attract domestic and foreign visitors.

    In addition, the nine other places The Food and Wine mentioned include: Austin Texas, USA; Bangkok, Thailand; Berlin, Germany; Chicago, USA; Istanbul, Turkey; Los Angeles California, USA; Mexico City, Mexico; Hong Kong, China; and Marrakech, Morocco./.
