Vietnamese Day in Germany

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany (1975-2005), Vietnamese Day was held in Berlin, on November 29th.
The major activities of the event were exhibitions introducing key export products of Vietnam, Vietnam and its people; a showcase of Vietnamese tourism; a traditional Vietnamese gala dinner; and Vietnam- Germany trade-investment-tourism forum.
Hundreds of Vietnamese and German enterprises will be participated in the forum to exchange information, and seek business and investment opportunities.
According to organizers, about 100 Vietnamese enterprises will fly to Germany to advertise their export products in "Unique Vietnam" exhibition.
Speaking at the forum, head of the Vietnamese delegation, Mr Doan Manh Giao, Minister-head of the Vietnamese Prime Minister's Office, identified the positive developments in cooperation between the two countries during the past 30 years.
Mr Guido Peruzzo, head of department for Asia-Pacific under the German ministry of Economics, said that the German government highly applauded Vietnam for the achievements it had made during its renewal process since the country began the programme in 1986.
He added that Germany considers Vietnam an important partner of the European Union in general and Germany in particular.
On the framework of the “Vietnamese Day”, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) signed the cooperation agreement with the Association of East Asia Germany and the H.m. Sky company, an enterprise of the overseas Vietnamese community in Germany.
The days showed positive attitude of the Vietnamese government in term of accelerating the relationship between the two countries, as well as the implementation of the National Action Plan in order to enhance the relationship between the two partners, Vietnam and the European Union.
The event is scheduled to wrap up on December 1st, 2005.
