    Danish project on solid waste treatment operates effectively
    The Denmark-funded project on environment and solid waste treatment in the northern province of Thai Nguyen has been operating effectively, benefiting the local environment and people.
    Vietnam and Belgium cooperate in environment sector
    CPV: In Hanoi, on August 4, Ambassador of Belgium Philippe Jottard and Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Cao Viet Sinh signed an agreement on the project “Improvement of sanitation and protection of the environment in the towns of Phan Ti Cua and Lien Huong, in Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province”.
    8.5 million USD grant for natural disaster risk management project
    CPV: The Netherlands ambassador, André Haspels, and the country director of the World Bank in Hanoi, Mr. Klaus Rohland, in Hanoi on July 6 signed documents formalising an 8.5 million USD Dutch financial grant for a natural disaster risk management project in Vietnam.
    Sweden helps Vietnam in using the environment and access the land sustainable
    CPV: The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) implements Sweden's bilateral development programme in approximately 100 countries in the world. Sida programmes in Vietnam are environment and land (16%), humanitarian and NGO assistance (7%), infrastructure and private sector (23%), research cooperation (5%), democratic governance (38%), and health (11%).
    Germany grants 12 million Euros for forest protection in the Central Provinces
    According to the Quang Nam people’s committee, the German Government announced that it will grant 12 million Euros of which 79% is non-refundable to the Central provinces of Vietnam to restore, manage and protect forests.
    SNV helps Vietnam in poverty reduction
    CPV: 10 years ago, 58% of Vietnamese population was living under the poverty line. Thanks to the continuous effort and focus, the Vietnamese Government has placed on poverty reduction, and the relentless efforts of the Vietnamese people, Vietnam is today regarded as a ‘poverty reduction champion’ among developing countries.
    Denmark supports Vietnam in judicial and legal reform
    The signing ceremony of the judicial and law reform program of Vietnam (3rd stage) which was sponsored by the Danish Government was held at the head office of the National Assembly Office, on December 29th.
    SIDA Sponsors 4 Million USD for Vietnam's SMEs
    CPV: The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) will cooperate to develop a four-year project ‘Poverty Reduction through Integrated Small Enterprise Development’ (PRISED) project under the sponsorship of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).

    CPV: On November 8, the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment and the German Ministry of Co-operation and Development signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on co-operation and development in 2006.

    English-Vietnamese version DVD on interpreting officially launched
    CPV: The official launch of the Interpreting Asia – Interpreting Europe DVD in the framework of the EU-funded Asialink project was organized by the Hanoi University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) and its partners, the University of Westminster (UK), the Dublin City University (Ireland) and the Xiamen University (China), on November 17th, at the head office of HUFS.
    Belgium helps Binh Dinh province upgrade irrigation system
    Vietnamese and Belgium representatives, on November 23rd, in Qui Nhon City, signed an agreement on enhancing agricultural productivity by upgrading the Phu My district's irrigation system.
    Vietnam-Germany close ties via the Konrad Adenauer Foundation
    CPV: The Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAF) has been active in Vietnam since 1992. In that year, the foundation’s Hanoi office started to organize a series of conferences on topics related to the social market economy.
    Germany grants Vietnam 14.63 million euros
    CPV: The agreement on financial cooperation between Vietnam and Germany was signed by Vietnamese Minister of Finance Le Thi Bang Tam and German Ambassador to Vietnam Christian Ludwig Weber Lortsch on November 3rd in Hanoi.

    €18 million for health care support to the poor in the Northern Uplands and Central Highlands
    CPV: Dr Markus Cornaro, Head of the European Commission Delegation to Vietnam and Ms Tran Thi Trung Chien, Minister of Health signed the Financing Agreement of the “Health Care Support to the Poor of the Northern Uplands and Central Highlands” (HEMA) project with a total value of € 19.4 million last month.

    CPV: The European Union provides grant funding of €17 million matched by a €1,588,000 contribution of the Vietnamese government for pro-poor development in the Northern Uplands of Vietnam.
