    Diem village opens festival commemorating ancestors of quan ho folk songs
    On March 13rd (the 6th day of the second lunar month) Vua ba temple festival commemorating the ancestors of quan ho folk songs took place in Diem village, Hoa Long commune, Bac Ninh city, the northern province of Bac Ninh and drew the participation of thousands of local people and visitors.
    Co Loa citadel festival
    The Co Loa festival is annually held in Co Loa village, Dong Anh district, Hanoi, from the 6th to the 16th day of the Lunar New Year, to honour An Duong Vuong Thuc Phan, who founded the ancient Vietnamese state of Au Lac and built the Co Loa citadel.
    Huong pagoda festival 2008 to open on 6th day of the first lunar month
    (CPV)- According to the Ha Tay provincial People’s Committee, the Huong pagoda festival 2008 will be opened on the 6th day of the first lunar month at Thien Tru pagoda, Huong Son commune in My Duc district.
    Mid Autumn Festival 2007: A Vietnamese-Korean cultural Bonanza!
    Thousands of children participated in this years Mid Autumn 2007 festival – and a joint Vietnamese-Korean cultural event was held at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi from September 21st to 24th.

    HCM City : Nghinh Ong festival to be launched in late September
    (CPV)- The Nghinh Ong Festival (Whale Worshiping Festival), a traditional festival of Southern fishermen, will be held on September 24-27, 2007 (August 14-18 in the lunar calendar) in Can Gio District, Ho Chi Minh City.
    Cau Ngu festival in south-central coast Binh Thuan province
    (CPV) – Cau Ngu festival is a festival of fishermen praying for fruitful catches.
    Khau Vai love market: Past and present
    (CPV)- People were battling many mountains and hills drinks and special food, and hurrying, afraid to miss the love market which is only held once a year (the 27th day of the third lunar month). But the wine tasted flat and the special food did not smell sweet.
    Ponagar festival opens in central Khanh Hoa province
    More than 600 Cham people, domestic pilgrims and foreign tourists are celebrating the Goddess Ponagar Festival which opened on May 8 in central Khanh Hoa province.

    Vietnam, Spain boost cultural and educational cooperation
    Vietnam and Spain have agreed to boost their cooperation in the areas of culture, education and science in the 2007-2009 period.

    The agreement was reached on January 16 during the first session of the Joint Committee on Cultural, Educational and Scientific Cooperation between the governments of Vietnam and Spain taking place in Hanoi.

    Vietnam tourism 2006: some major events
    CPV: In Hanoi, on December 15, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism organised a ceremony to review its achivements in 2006 and map out its targerts for the next year. It has severed about 17.5 million domestic tourists, a 1.5 million higher than the previous year, and estimating to pocket 2.2 billion USD.
