    Symposium on Vo Van Kiet’s life and cause held

    Almost 50 scientific and historical researchers gathered in the Mekong delta province of Vinh Long on Sept. 8 for a symposium on the life and cause of former Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet.

    VNA remembers French war experiences

    The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on Sept. 8 inaugurated a stele house in memory of its experiences prior to the Dien Bien Phu victory which put an end to the French presence in Vietnam.

    Industry and trade ministry to deal with climate change

    The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), in association with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), announced its plan to deal with climate change on September 8.

    Over 15,000 people benefit from safe water project

    On September 6, Coca Cola inaugurated a safe water construction at the Van Binh secondary school, together with other safe water constructions in Thuong Tin district, Hanoi, providing nearly 6,000 pupils and students and 183 families access to safe water.

    Ten helicopters to fly over Ba Dinh Square on capital’s millennial celebration

    During a meeting on the preparation for the celebration of 1,000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi on September 6, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that as planned, up to 20,000 people are expected to participate in the meeting and parade at Ba Dinh Square on October 10.

    VND 700 million given to AO victims

    The Ha Tinh provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange, together with sponsors from Ha Tinh province and Ho Chi Minh City gave 164 presents and scholarships worth VND 700 million to children who are affected by Agent Orange and those from disadvantaged families.

    The Quang Tri provincial People’s Committee on September 5 held a reburial service for the remains of Vietnamese soldiers who laid down their lives during the resistance war against US aggressors in 1968.

    Strengthening road safety and drink-driving prevention in Vietnam

    (CPV)- Coinciding with the launch of Vietnam's annual road traffic safety month, today August 31, the WHO and the National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC) announced the commencement of a new program to strengthen road safety in Vietnam, particularly prevention of drinking and driving, a behavior that places individuals as well as other innocent road users at substantially greater risk of road injury and trauma.
